Don’t evolve just to survive. Evolve to thrive.

2020 has been a tough year. While all business leaders had to act fast and take decisions based on the survival of their organizations, in the long run, the ones who will thrive will be those whose decisions will have future-proof their businesses. Besides, those who were more ready to continue their operations during those difficult times, were the companies that had started their digital transformation years ago.

It is more evident than ever that going digital is the only way. It is more important than ever to talk about digital transformation. Join us in this unique online event, to take a look beyond the now and here, to discover the most emerging trends, to discuss on lessons learnt and to discover what comes next.

How Technology and Data transforms the Real estate industry

Real Estate is one of the few industries that has failed to change in the last many years and is broken - both in terms of cost/value and experience. Processes are lengthy, paper-based and complex to navigate, there is lack of professionalism, information and transparency and most people who have dealt with a property have experienced a poor service, antiquated process and felt the pain of seeing unnecessary fees and commissions getting paid out of their pockets with questionable value and results. Clients are clearly not happy with this old way.

Technology and Data are transforming the whole experience in the Real Estate industry. AI tools and services and Machine Learning algorithms bring the human touch to one of the most important financial decisions for most families and individuals: buying or renting a home.

Probable, Possible and Preferred Futures

People have always been curious about what lies ahead.

But as global connectivity drives acceleration, volatility and above all uncertainty, seers such as Pythia and Cassandra are notably absent. One solution is to keep an open mind about what’s possible and adapt as necessary.

Richard Watson, formerly with the Technology Foresight Practice at Imperial College and currently with the Entrepreneurship Centre at the Judge Business School in Cambridge, will outline some probable developments alongside a few wilder possibilities. But is there a more constructive option?

Instead of trying to foresee the future, a better bet would surely be to work tirelessly to re-invent it, especially if such transformations were to benefit all of society and were to amplify, rather than diminish, our common humanity.

Richard Watson

Richard Watson is an author (Digital Vs. Human), lecturer and scenario thinker (Founder: What’s Next) who helps people to think further ahead, especially about new opportunities and risks. However, he is probably best known as a designer of ‘maps’ intended to provoke debate. The Financial Times called these “Brave”, while Business Insider said they might “Blow your mind”.

He is currently Futurist-in-Residence at the Entrepreneurship Centre at the Judge School at Cambridge University. Before this he worked with the Technology Foresight Practice at Imperial College London.

Richard married an Australian in Greece in 1999 and has been back to Greece at least once a year ever since.
